| Tip #1 - Start Early: The first of many tips for getting into law school is to start the law school application early. This may arguably be the most underutilized tip for getting into law school. It is never too early to get started with your law school application. Many law schools have rolling admissions which can potentially be a huge advantage for an applicant. If you apply to the law school early, there are more available spots in the incoming class of law students. However, if you wait until the standard deadline to apply, you may be denied admissions because the school has already filled up its incoming class. Tip # 2 - Stay Organized: Another tip for getting into law school is to stay organized in the law school application process. There are several moving parts to an application and the applicant will likely have to work on these application components simultaneously. Other tips for getting into law school include making a checklist to keep track of your progress and using a calendar to keep track of important upcoming application due dates. Tip # 3 - Apply to Several Schools: The third tip for getting into law school is to be strategic concerning which law schools you apply to in the law school admission process. Law school admission to any law school is not guaranteed. There are a number of criteria that each school considers when determining admissions decisions, and there is no way to predict whether or not you will gain admission to a particular school. In order to increase your chances of getting admitted, you should apply to several schools including a couple of "reach" schools and "safety" schools. Following this tip for getting into law school will statistically increase your chances of being accepted into a law school program. Tip #4 - Seek Assistance for Perfecting your Application: There are several pre-law resources that provide advice on how to best create an impressive law school application and give additional tips for getting into law school. One reasonably priced resource at $9.99 that comes highly recommended is a book called The Star Law Applicant by Starlett A. Carter (downloadable at www.thestarlawapplicant.com), a corporate attorney and 2006 Harvard Law School grad. Derived from the techniques and strategies this author used to get a place in Harvard, Starlett provides practical advice on how to best improve your law school application to increase your chances of admission that many applicants have found helpful. Following these tips for getting into law school will help you make the law school application process smoother and will helpfully result in acceptance letters.
