When we talk of videos, we must consider that video is a very ambiguous word; however it covers every aspect of the elements it covers. A video is a motion picture, in other words, a video is a picture that gets capturing and recording while still in motion. Even movies and television shows can be classified as video as they have moving images. However, the word video commonly refers to music video or even the video machine. Music videos are motion pictures of certain songs that get the recording by an artist. Today’s world demands that for your music to sell, you must also have the video alongside the audio. This has been occasioned by the demand of music video shows in most television stations. Major awards such as the Grammys also have a category of the best music video up for grabs a trend that is fast getting replication by music awards all over the world and it is one of the factors that have driven production of music videos. Any type of video production has three different stages, the first is pre production, and this is where you plan on what is being shot and how it will be filmed. Once you have planned, the next step is the production itself. This involves going to the field or chosen locations and doing the actual filming also known as shooting. After shooting the content is taken in for video editing, which involves adding different other elements that make the video make sense. For instance, adding transition and correcting some errors that appear on the set. There are also quite a number of shots from the scene; this means the editors have to come up with a way of merging all these clips to come up with a complete thing that flows. Just like most other professions, one has to go to school to learn about video production. You need to learn how to use a camera, edit using, edit suits, and acquire script-writing skills. However, in the video making industry most people specialize in one of the three. There are scriptwriters, editors, and camera technicians. This specialization also helps to be better at what one does. This mostly applies in movies where most personnel are usually specialists in their fields, from lights to make up. Making movies is a higher level of video production, since the basic principles also apply. The only difference is that the personnel and facilities required for a movie are somewhat more complex than making a documentary or a television show. The advancement of technology has also influenced the growth of video production to film production. Another sector of video production is production of television commercials, which also shares the same principles. Generally, making video has evolved from making movies to just about anything. The days when making video was a reserve of major video production houses and television stations are long gone. Today there are amateur cameras that one can use, shoot and edit footage and post it on YouTube. This means the facilities needed to make a video today are so much more easily accessible, than they were in the past. The cameras and editing software are more user friendly, which means more people can do this kind of thing.
